Explore My Visual Art Portfolio

Majority of my visual art follows this sustained investigation:

How can I depict through art the Asian American experience and intergenerational dynamics? Through imagery and symbolism, my sustained investigation seeks to depict generations of Asian American families and their identities. The elders’ gaze toward the younger generation reflects a burning desire for their success and an innate hope to shield them from past adversities. Honoring my family's legacy of immigrant struggles and celebrating their resilience, I aim to foster empathy and understanding across generations through my art.

My sustained investigation evolved through disciplined practice, using varied mediums–graphite and colored pencils, watercolors, acrylics, and mixed media–while embracing experimentation and feedback. Each piece became a visual metaphor for my own identity, my elders’ immigrant struggles, and how that contributes to our intergenerational challenges and connections. Each iteration brought newfound clarity and depth, transforming basic concepts into refined expressions of meaning. With each revision, my work grew in complexity and nuance, sharpening my artistic skills and perspective.
